BackgroundAround the world, millions of visually-impaired people can only see the world through their hands.
Since 90% of all visual loss can be prevented or treated, we wanted to remind people of our work, and in doing so, encourage them to support us.
Creative Idea
The first annual report that has to be touched to be seen.
It’s a reminder that millions of visually-impaired people can only see the world through their hands.
Insights & Strategy
Around the world, millions of visually-impaired people can only see the world through their hands.
As 90% of all visual loss can be prevented or treated, our goal was to remind people of our work and, in doing so, encourage them to support us.
Execution
Printed with heat-sensitive ink, the pages remain invisible until you touch them—detail by detail, section by section, page by page.
By using heat-sensitive ink, we transformed the annual report into a tactile experience that goes beyond conventional visual elements.
This design choice allows readers to engage with the content in a way that resonates with their unique perspective of perceiving the world through touch.
By presenting the report in this manner, we effectively raised awareness about the challenges faced by visually-impaired people and ORBIS’ mission to prevent and treat visual loss.
Results
For those fortunate enough to see, this is the closest they’ll get to experience blindness.
It’s not only a reminder of our vision, and the work we do, but also an appeal to support us.
The report was sent to our global network of partners and sponsors, as well as representatives from business and politics.
